Director of Research and Communication
Sakshi has always had a passion for the fields of politics, policy and law. She established a strong foundation in the political sphere at a young age, learning how to best serve the needs of the private and public sector alike. Sakshi was able to build upon this foundation in her legal roles, learning the nuances of the legal field. Her previous exposure has led her to specialization in several key areas:
- Experienced in all phases of high-profile, regulatory investigations, Sakshi has performed extensive fact investigation research.
- Assisted in document review and production of materials responsive to numerous DOJ and SEC requests for highly privileged national intelligence matters.
- Developed a strong background on various policy issues with a focus on Appropriations while working at Global Citizen. Wrote articles outlining the budget and government affairs issues.
- Established a strong expertise in management and leadership at a young age. Sakshi created School to School – India, successfully navigating various barriers to provide boys and girls an education in a remote village school in India, while raising awareness on literacy issues in developing countries.
From 2013 to 2016, Sakshi held various internships on Capitol Hill. She worked for Speaker Paul Ryan, Congressman Kevin Yoder and the House Administration Committee. During Sakshi’s time on the Hill, she developed an interest in global policy issues. Her time at Global Citizen as a Global Policy & Advocacy Intern furthered Sakshi’s interest. She conducted research on a wide variety of issues ranging from clean water and sanitation to education and the budget, attending meetings on Capitol Hill to stay informed on new US polices and their impact on poverty eradication.
In 2018, Sakshi began her two-year term as a Litigation Paralegal at Sullivan & Cromwell LLP in New York. During her time at the firm, she worked on several major cases, including the $3 billion Wells Fargo Settlement and multiple successful pro-bono cases.
Sakshi was born in London, England and grew up in Overland Park, Kansas. She has had a longstanding passion for travel and service work and was able to combine the two when she started her non-profit in a small village in the mountainous region of the Himalayas. Sakshi has traveled to the depths of India for her service work and has assisted with several projects in Kansas City as well. When COVID and work permits, Sakshi enjoys traveling with her family and spending time in her hometown of Kansas.
Sakshi is a graduate of New York University with a bachelor’s degree in Public Policy and Global Public Health.
